or, "Guess What Followed Me Home?"
Okay, so I peek at used scooters now and then to see what's around. Yes, I know I have plenty (though one is purportedly my wife's...not that she rides much, but she doesn't want me to sell it, either. ). Some time this summer, a 2017 BV350 caught my eye on FB Marketplace, but it was way up in the northern part of the state. Price didn't seem bad, but I already have a 2013.......
So, summer passed, I may have checked back once or twice, or, more likely FB in it's devious ways put it in my face. Sometime in November, I saw it again, this time for $1K less than before.
Mrs. fledermaus surprisingly didn't put up resistance, perhaps because I promised her a much-needed weekend getaway as part of the deal. We left a couple of days prior, one of them consumed by the drive, Felt strange to be buying a scooter driving past frozen lakes with snow covering the ground in places.
The original buyer was an older gentleman who purchased it new in 2019, then developed some balance issues and gave up riding. Sold it to a friend this year who lives a half mile down a gravel road, and didn't feel that comfortable with it. I think the only reason it hadn't sold was that it was out in the boonies, and roughly 4 hours from the closest dealer.
Scooter has 1.2K miles, well cared for, and, as far as I can tell, cosmetically flawless. Interestingly the original owner apparently didn't like the step seat and had it reupholstered, which looks like a a good job, and feels as good.
Guess my old one will have to go, but that will wait for spring.
