I want to get something for extra storage - but - must not be Vespa oval box in the back. I'm looking for something more rugged - pelican box? Something in the area of adventure bike look/capacity. Any ideas? Hard-shell of soft fabric?

Side note: what is the typical rear rack weight capacity? Looked all over and came in empty... Facepalm emoticon

Most top boxes are rated around the 5kg..

I use to use my Alloy BMW 35lt top box on the back, but now I have reverted to the famous milk crate that most people use around these parts...

Note:

The more weight you put on the top box the lighter the front wheel becomes (possibly inducing the famous front wobble)

You also have the front rack as an option

don't think the standard rack is rated for a hell of a lot either. I wouldn't stick a box of beer on it

I have on the standard pull down rack.. Then again a carton of beer (bottles) is more than double the recommended 5kg of most top boxes..

That's a great option. I did use this option on one trip (Wolfman) and the only extra thing I did was to buy a roll of 3M clear plastic adhesive film so not to scratch the paintwork...

The beauty of this solution is also that the weight of the luggage is not behind the rear wheel, but there are more advantages in using saddlebags...

I think he want's it for a S150, so no bag hook at the front.

Is there a good tunnel bag for the 150s?

Try Givi---their products strong and work---my E-46 box has over 500,000 miles on various bikes and still works well.

I use ROK straps and a soft waterproof bag on multi day rides.

It doesn't look great, but does the job.

The GT has a "Duck Bill" rack that works well with the bag.

Mounting it on the rack allows me to raise the seat for refueling.

Will look into it. Weight might be an issue as some have mentioned so I need to look into splitting the load.

Long story short I'm puling everybody's leg here on the forum b/c I got bit by a bug...2023 Cannonball bug and well - it's all down hill from here lol

That is a well constructed bag. Packs a lot and keeps the center of gravity low, where it should be. Also great to walk around with. For me the best way to carry things on the GTS.
