Sooooo…just got a super nifty set of BGM shocks for the Sprint and wanted to ask the hive mind a dumb question. What's the overall length of the rear. Including silent block and little extension on the top.

Thank you much guys!

What model & year of "Sprint"? (They're still making the Sprint)
What size WHEELS does it have? (8", 10")

Good questions. That front end looks modernish. Having said that, I've never seen a Sprint with 8" wheels, but I certainly haven't seen much.
Nice cig-butt collection.

The bike in the background is my ol lady's 68 Lambretta. And you're right, Supers have the 8" wheels.

I really need to quit smoking…😁

Since no one answered this yet, on my 1976 SprintV, it's right at 18" from the frame to the shock bolt.

Lemme know if you need additional measurements.

I think he means top of the rear shock to the center of bolt hole at the bottom.

Unrelated. In what part of Arizona are you? I am located in Tucson. I am about to do a full engine and harness swap on my Sprint Veloce probably this weekend , if I have the chance I will look into it.

Wouldn't that just be the length of the shock?

I assumed he was trying to work out what the total length should be to get the correct spacer height given his shock.

Either way, he has all his own measurements, plus the total length from me. Anything else he needs to know is simple algebra.

Right, I'm spaced out. It's the same thing.

I do apologize for lagging on replying and thanks for the responses! I got em all mounted but will be pulling for adjustment.

I did get a quick blast on the bike after first mounting and already a noticeable improvement.

No need to apologize. I'm always happy when I can help out around here.

Upgrading/replacing the shocks makes such a huge difference, but I think that until you've done it, you can't really appreciate how much.

I run BGM shocks on my Sprint and GL and they're both really nice. I put a pair of much more expensive Bitubo's on my Stella at one point and don't like them nearly as much.

I never gave tooooo much thought about suspension until I had the suspension dialed in on my motorcycles. Holy shit what a difference!!

The only niggle I've found with the BGM (maybe others as well) is the adjustment at the top of the rear shock. As you know with a Sprint ya ain't got much room to do much of anything in there. But then again once it's set, it's set.

The modern Sprint has ZERO shared mechanical components with the original. Sprints never came with 8" wheels.
