Starter is noisy like it's not engaging when cold, it then seems to catch and start.
This does not happen when warmed up.

Any ideas guys,

Your sprag clutch could be on the way out. Happened to me on my Fuoco - eventually the starter would struggle to turn the engine over, and at the end just stalled. A bit of a PITA to replace, but you don't need to take the engine out.

its the flywheel bearing it is in the flywheel and buy the piaggio one i've tried the cheaper versions they don't last

The 400 parts list shows it here, as no.7 'freewheel', it should be similar in the 300. According to scooterpartsco.com, the part number is now 8494905, superseding older part numbers.

Well eventually got the sprag clutch delivered, 3 months to come...not good.
What is the torque for the bolts on the flywheel cover, as cannot find anything.
I know the clutch nut torque.

It's the same for all 300 engines, including HPE.

Just an update on replacing the sprag clutch.
Pretty straight forward job if your handy. done within an hour, longest part was cleaning off the old gasket.

Scoot starting fine and no noise.
