Hi Fellow Enthusiasts, I was able to take advantage of the warm temperature today and decided to remove the panels and try to get a clear look at the fuel sending unit and it quickly became evident that some mice chewed up the electrical wires going to the sending unit. I was able to rewire the connection and low and behold my fuel gauge is now operating again. I took my time taking off the panels and was mindful of what screw went where. Robot's panel removing video was invaluable.Thank you all for your suggestions and advice. I hope that someone who developes a similar problem as I had will benefit from this post.

Good to read you solved the problem and in a simple way.
Any idea how that mouse was able to get inside?

Mice will go through any hole they can poke their heads through & eat or nest in unpredictable ways
At one point mice/rats would steal insulation from under the hood of my toyota matrix & use it to build a nest on top of the bellypan of my 400 burgman if I didn't ride it more than once a month

Studying a bit my Beverly the head of a mouse must be pretty small.

Hi, Where there is a will there is a way. Mice and rats are very intelligent creatures and very resourceful. Before I closed up the bike, I surrounded as much of the wiring I could with wire mesh.
