I like this and a few other points in the Road Test.

In any case, the Navi represents a major step forward in making the enjoyment of motorcycling more accessible than ever. That's a very good thing, no matter how you look at it.

Air cooled, carbed engine. I wonder why Honda did not use the engine used in the Elite 110? 108cc, water cooled, fuel injected with a front disc brake.

Answered in the article - to keep the cost down to sub-$2k.

Honda has a rear rack and a windscreen listed on their site for the Navi now. I think these little bikes are gonna sell like crazy! Not really my thing but I did own a Adly RT50 for a very short while. Only reason I sent it away was the horrible ergonomics. Any bump would punch your spine thru the paper thin seat and the poor/poor suspension. This little Honda will get all sorts of crazy aftermarket support. Hummmm.....

I honestly have no issues with drum brakes. Simple, proven and work when the motor is left stock. My old Elite 250 and 150 both had perfectly fine drum brakes. This little Navi is perfect for a simple commuter, the only riding I do now. But my Liberty is still going strong so I'm not looking at the moment.

My 250 Nighthawk has drums front and rear. It did until they stopped making it in 2009. It works. They gave me no trouble riding the Catskills or running in traffic on Route 9. It's the rider, not the brakes.

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered both accessories today. The rack is in stock, but the windscreen is on back order. Hopefully, I'll get it by the time my bike arrives in mid February.
