Just installed the Malossi 183cc kit in my 2016 Sprint. Everything went smoothly and the bike started up just fine without the Forcemaster after reinstalling the engine.

I'm in the process of setting up the Forcemaster now, and I have a couple of questions:

1. There are 4 maps preloaded into the unit, but there are 2 sets of numbers. The ones on the outside of the box do not match the ones that are visible underneath the outer case. Which numbers are used to set the map? I also have the Malossi exhaust installed.

2. Where does the Forcemaster get its power? I have connected the ground, TPS, and fuel injector wires. There is a blue wire that is not connected to anything according to the instructions. Does this sound correct? Why is the wire there?

I am having trouble getting the box to power up. My immobilizer has been acting up lately and sometimes I have to fiddle with the key quite a bit to start the bike. Could that be why the Forcemaster is not powered?

3. How does the Forcemaster increase the RPM limits when it appears to have no connection to the ECU or ignition coil? Am I missing something?

Just found the answer to question 2--the finicky immobilizer was interrupting power to the box. Got it all set up now

I'm still curious about the map and the RPM limiter if anyone has that info.

Also, does anyone have recommendations for dealing with a finicky immobilizer? The issue comes and goes.

Sorry for being vague. The issue seems to be that the key is sometimes not detected by the immobilizer system. I usually just flip the key over and switch the ignition on and off a few times, and sometimes move the scooter a few feet. Eventually it detects it. The scooter never fails to power up when the key is turned, it's just the immobilizer aspect that is intermittent. I don't know if there could be a source of interference from other keys on the key ring, something in the glovebox, etc.

Does the signal from the key somehow weaken over time? Suggestions?

As per Dooglas...but being careful not to get dieletric grease on the actual contact area. It's not a good conductor of electricity. It stops electrical connections from actually making a connection which is what it's supposed to do. It's designed to stop moisture ingress so you put it over the connections not on them or in them. Just wanted to make that clear to Desmo.

Regarding the intermittent immobiliser connection. This is more likely to be an antenna problem or a key chip issue. Try using your master key for a few days and see if the issue goes away. If it does then you have found the problem. Get another key. If not, then it's worth checking out the immobiliser itself but that may be a dealer issue if it's anything more than a loose connection. It almost certainly won't be an ecu problem.

Gotcha, thanks! I'll try using the master key for a few days and go from there.
