I'm not entirely sure there's a ton of overlap between the circles of "people who like Justin Bieber" and "people who might be likely to buy a Vespa." I'm curious how someone, somewhere, apparently got paid to draw the opposite conclusion.

I guess next year is going to be weird, too.

A guy known to own cars like Merc SLS AMG, Lamborhini Aventador etc...for sure brings some street cred to Piaggio's new green, environmentally friendly line of products.

Or mayby they'll launch some new kind of emission compensation sceme, like, if you'll buy and clock miles into one Vespa, you'll get discount of buying any ICE vehicle with 8+ cylinders.... which, sadly, probably would not even be the worst emission compensation sceme today

Jaysus, there's allot of hate here... He's a celebrity who will bring attention to the brand... Has already generated sales just by being photographed on a Vespa. I'm personally not a fan, but he has weight as an influencer.

The guy who sells runners and put his name to the multicoloured Vespa has opened them up to a while new market and generated allot of sales. I think they should do this on a rolling basis will a new personality every year or two.

Fair play to them for such a large marketing investment. The next few years will be critical, scooters and bikes have the potential to become far more relevant again and Vespa need to be on the top of people's minds...

While I don't care much for his music, he does have talent. The same can't be said for a number of international stars. I think growing from a young kid garnering too much fame and money into a "well adjusted adult" has proven to be really difficult for many child stars. Too much tabloid attention, mixed with trying to figure out who you really are, while in your teenage years to early twenties.
Anyways, Vespa has obviously decided to try and target the younger men and women market share worldwide. Will it work better than Wootherspoon, whom I have never heard of? No idea, but maybe it will amount to something funny if not interesting.

Considering the average age for a Vespa owner in North America seems to be about 50 I doubt very much he was chosen for this market!

I think he did a really innovative design using already existing colors and parts.
He brought an entire new market segment to Vespa.
I have a feeling that the Bieber vespa will be more of a '' collaboration'' ie a vespa designed by vespa with Bieber ''input'' and license.
Nonetheless it will expand the Vespa market and makes sense for the company.
Then again being a member of the over 50 segment, I have to admit I would be more tempted by a Robot edition of the 300cc vespa.
What would it have ? 13inch wheels? biturbo shocks, speed ring, led light package? Malossi variator ? Akrapovic exhaust ?

At least I've never heard of this Wotherspoon character.

They are in business to make money and will use any advantage to that end. No hate here, he made his money honestly enough, so I hope it works out for both of them.

Piaggio have some form with this marketing, a friend of mine has 1 one of 5 of Aprilia50 scooters, which where presented to the Spice Girls in the late 90's, fully resplendent in Blue & Pink livery with Spice Girls artwork & individual pics of the girls, for there respective scooters.

I wonder how bad's going to be?? He already ruined a Ferrari 458...

The madness continue in the everlasting aim by Piaggio to capture wider and younger market demographics.

We have had 946 in the hands of Giorgio Armani and Dior, Primavera was covered in melted Skittles and found by Sean Wotherspoon who claimed it as his design, now Bieber...I'm afraid even to think what that will look like but we can expect lot of ink and tats and all-sorts of going-ons there.
