Good morning, does anyone know of Piaggio/Vespa monitor this site as a means of gathering global "voice of customer" input?

If you're listening, please 1) engineer self canceling turn signals, 2) redesign the gas tank vent system to keep from overflowing upon fill up, 3) add a tachometer to gauge cluster, and 4) give as an all electric option with top speed higher than 45 mph, and range >100 miles.

Please hear us. We love the brand and are loyal

Even if it were true that they read this forum they would be fools to make it clear that they are aware of your problems.
However they would tell you to complain to the customer support in your area, in Italy it works like this.

I would be happy if they just had a beeper on the indicators.

All good suggestions and shared by me too, except I couldn't care less about electric Vespa, but that's just me.

The petrol tank pipe is my pet peeve, it's like Russian roulette on every fill at the pump. I now 'calculate' how much approx I need for a re-fill and cut it off at the main pump, not at nozzle handle. Too many overspills for my taste. At some point I used to carry an old rag under the seat just to roll it over the nozzle while filling. Ridiculous.

I think it's unlikely that Piaggio (that is, the personnel in Italy) monitors this site or cares about our opinions at all.

I know that a few people from Piaggio USA used to read this site, but it's been many years and anyway it is unlikely that Piaggio personnel in Italy care about Piaggio USA's opinions any more than they care about what we say on this site.

Which is all to say: no. What you say here will have zero impact on the actual product. Because Piaggio.

My Vespa guru has an idea for a flasher beeper that draws power only when the brakes are NOT applied so you DON'T get beeped sitting at a traffic light between the cars.

We'll work on it...

On my Supertech I use Bluetooth in my helmet for that. A typical "ticking" sound while they are on.

PS, can't help but thinking that those who only ride (no car) like me very rarely forget to turn them off ... 🤔

I mean, where the hell is our 400cc 16 inch wheeled 100mph two helmets that fit human heads in the pet carrier built in beer cooler and pez dispenser ESS equipped front and rear usb-c charging port and rotella as original oil so I don't have to change it as soon as I ride it off the lot 25 inch because Mum couldn't pull a taller guy at the pub seat height heated grip and thermo electric cooled seat with 25000km service interval scooter?

Back in the late seventies the Japanese tried both timers for self cancelling signals and beepers so they wouldn't be forgotten. Both turn out to be spectacular annoyances and were quietly dropped.

I suppose with all the electronic trickery now available a system could be engineered, but adding a few sensors and another processor to the machine is only going to add cost to an already pricey machine.

I much rather have a fuel filler that didn't spew fuel over the hot engine and flood its own evap system on occation.

The Piaggio X9's turn signals switched off automatically after travelling 500 metres. The problem with that is that people got used to this, so never turned them off manually. This caused several nasty situations in urban areas where their still-on indicator lied to the other traffic about the rider's intentions.

I don't like any auto turn-off system (except to stop the noise while braked), even in cars.

One loud enough to be heard with a full face helmet on. I installed the scooterwest beepers but I can't hear them with my helmet visor closed. OTOH, I can hear the beepers on our Buddy 125 even if I'm riding behind it with my full face helmet on.

I used to be a mole for Piaggio on this site. Unfortunately, it was a classic case of "kill the messenger" -> they didn't like all the complaints about oil consumption and self-canceling turn signals I was passing on to them and fired me. Jess took pity and sheltered me, and now I will never be able to leave

Absolutely agree. They don't even monitor the Museo Piaggio, even when they get prior notice that an epic world Vespa traveler (not me) will drop by. They do next to nothing to advance one of the most iconic brands in the world. Just resting on their laurels.

I know it was fairly common at one point for companies to follow customer discussions online (and sometimes even join in), but that was years ago.

Not sure why it fell out of style, but there are probably numerous reasons, depending on the industry. Now those people just run corporate FB/Twitter accounts. With a few exceptions, they just regurgitate advertising and have generally become quite boring, honestly. I understand they can't possibly take every customer's comments into account, but it's obvious most companies listen to us less and less these days.

While I haven't followed everything quite that closely, a few things do stick out in my mind as Vespa (probably) having paid attention:
After a ton of owners swapped their amber ET signal lenses for clear ones, they gave all the subsequent Vespa models stock clear signal lenses. Same with a lot of folks adding LED running lights in the signal housings. Then they started making black crash bar and trim accessories (probably to claim more of the money people were clearly willng to spend elsewhere to get them). I'd consider those minor details in the grand scheme of things, though.
