I stumbled across a storage-unit find a couple of weeks back. I found a post through OfferUp for someone selling a VBA fork. I needed one for my 1957 Ape and went to go pick it up. Long story short, he had a lot of bits and pieces tucked away in his late father's storage unit.

Among those pieces were these two frames.

A (Red) 1958 VB1T and a (White) 1963 VLA1T

I have enough parts to piece together both of them, with the exception of the motors.

I found someone close to me selling an Allstate motor and from what I can tell it's a VNB5M 125cc.

A couple of questions for you all.

1. Should I partake in these projects and the journey to find all the parts? (This one is rhetorical, the answer is an outstanding YES)

2. Would this motor fit in either of these frames? I am guessing that it might fit in the 1963 VLA1T?

3. Does anyone have any motors or parts for either of these?

Thanks in advance

Nice score. Looks like the motor would be fine in the 63.

So do you or don't you have all the parts (expect for the engines) to completely reassemble both scooters?

That red VB1 Wideframe will only accept a Wideframe engine! You can fit any largeframe engine (including P series 125-200cc) into the white one.

*yes, in theory you can fit a largeframe engine into a VB1, and it has been done a number of times, but it usually involves a welder and a sawzall...so don't do it. And if you do decide to do it, don't let Mr. Gick find out!

Super Rad score! What a cool find. Especially considering you were only planning to get a fork. I'd say you Won today

The VB1 is a cool scoot. I have one that is slowing coming together (collecting dust). Very cool scoots and not that common, especially with Original widebody engine. The original paint is peaking out, and looks likely to be in good condition. Worth stripping off that Red to see.
* BTW, I have a spare complete set of engine cases & swingarm. If interested, send me a PM.

The other engine you posted will fit just fine in the '63. Easy bolt in and go. Thats a rad find too.

Outstanding all around.

A vote to get with Gick on a proper, tricked out wideframe motor for Big Red! Both of those are great finds!
