Placed an order with SIP on the 10th - selected 4 day FedEx. I knew it wouldn't be just 4 days (not sure why they even called it that) but I assumed the major grab-assing woulda taken place courtesy of our own Postmeister Meisterburger. Not complaining here, just documenting for anyone "optimistic" enough to also initiate an international shipment.

Welcome to my world - Fedex lost $450 worth of LiFePO4 cells for me when they got within three miles of my house. Luckily the Chinese seller cooperated and I was reimbursed after they made their claim.

Given a choice I'd never have stuff shipped by Fedex.

Dang. I only ordered around $200 worth of stuff, none of it urgent. I also assume SIP would have my back if it ever came to that.

Why would anybody think (fire) Louis DeJoy has anything to do with something Fedex shipped? I've got a Fedex shipment sitting in CDG Roissy since the 7th because of a strike that (fire) Louis DeJoy had nothing to do with. Fedex' hub for EU is CDG, so they're moving everything through DE, hence the delay. Fedex Australia is also on strike, because the cheap bastards at Fedex are trying to turn it from a job into a gig.

I had a small parcel sent to me from Cape Town in December 2017.
According to the tracking number, the SA Post Office system shows it is still being sorted in the CapeMail depot in Cape Town. Facepalm emoticon

I think it has been stolen.

Most of my delivery problems have been with the US Postal Service, which makes me sad, as it has been one of the greatest and most democratic institutions in our nation's history.

Unfortunately, I have had packages lost, long-delayed, undelivered, and damaged. At least where I live, UPS and FedEx do a better job.

I don't agree with those who say that USPS should be run like a business or make a profit. It's a service that, through government, we provide to all of ourselves.

I ordered a GTS camshaft from SIP, shipped Dec 13th via 4 day FedEx. It is out for delivery today (N. Ga)

My package left Koeln on Monday (20th) at 10:49 pm

This is lightning response compared to a package ordered from Italy on Dec 6 that still hasn't left the country.

OK people why are you posting this the day after I ordered a inner tube for my old Farmall and it is being shipped by FedEx?

As this tractor is mainly used to mow the back yard/field and I live in Central NY it might not be that time critical as next mowing is probably in May of 2022. That said I hope it is faster than Fudmucker's shipment or I'll be needing my chainsaw to cut the trees down that will be growing by then!

Shipment arrived today! 12 days transit from the EU? No complaints at all about the shipping speed or the thorough way everything was packed in there. And yeah, I shouldn't have implicated USPS or DeJoy because this was a FedEx shipment. I just don't care for the man for reasons I can't discuss here.

I have nothing good to say about Fedex when it comes to importing into the US. Most people don't know it, but the way US Customs processes most imports for businesses that arrive via air is that an employee of the shipping firm, like Fedex, will enter information into the system, and US Customs then clears it. It's an automated process, and the shipment doesn't actually go to someone from US Customs, who looks through it. With DHL or UPS, I might have an issue that requires me to talk to them once or twice a year. With Fedex, it was every other shipment, although lately, it's been every shipment. They seem to have a high turnover in the Customs clearance department, and don't hire people who can figure out things for themselves. I've been asked to fill out endangered species paperwork for Malossi Wild Lion Exhausts, fill out Geneva Convention paperwork to import bearings, and fill out China Anti-dumping paperwork for everything with the word aluminum on the commercial invoice, even though they are clearly labeled as being made in Italy. And they will say that Customs wants this. When I pin them down and ask if it's been keyed into the system yet, they always say no, but whoever is looking at the invoice has decided these things are needed. UPS and DHL usually have everything keyed in and cleared before the plane lands in the US.

USPS is separate from the government and has been for a while. The crazy thing about USPS is they could have had it all or at least most of the shipping. Many moons ago, the employees of said institution was asked to deliver more packages as they were losing business to up and coming UPS. The members voted it down, claiming they were letter carriers and did not think UPS was much of a threat. Now they are delivering 7 days a week, playing catch up. I would also bring up one more point. I used to bring in sporting goods on a small basis from England and Germany. I used all the shippers - FedEX, UPS, USPS, DHL, etc... When there were shipping problems, USPS was by far the easiest to deal with on insurance claims and the fastest to get a refund from. FedEx was second, UPS was just short of impossible. I don't it's like this now, though, but when I shipping anything under 20 pounds, I always go with USPS.

Well can't complain about FedEx on this shipment. Inner tube ordered on the 21st from place in Texas and just before noon on Thursday the truck backed in driveway and guy handed it to me. No special shipping requested by me.

Now I have to get off my butt and see if I can mount that tire without pinching the nice new tube!

In all seriousness though, we are dealing with the same thing with Canada Post over here in Canada. I think they get X number of days per year for COVID, and it resets at the end of th calendar year, so I know a lot of government workers who were off for COVID the last week of December... super convenient time to start feeling ill lol. Calendar resets just when they start feeling better. Good times! Laughing emoticon
