Festivus is on December 23 and it's perfect for those who don't have a traditional holiday to celebrate. Although it sounds paradoxical, its purpose makes a lot of sense. Not everyone has a major holiday to celebrate like Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa and they can feel left out. Now I know Happy what ever you believe in.

For years, the Arizona Republic had a guy that wrote a daily column called "Valley 101". His name was Clay Thompson; he answered questions readers had about most anything Arizona related. Why is it called Claypool? for example, or why do scorpions glow under black light?

But, if someone had a particularly silly question, he would start his column with "You People". Thanks for reminding me, jimc.
