There is a return spring on the rear brake. Is there supposed to be one on the front. too? I don't see any on the drawings. Just asking.

Yep, I rebuilt the front brake with a new cable, shroud, OEM parts and lubed appropriately. It just looked like a spot where a spring should belong.
