Check on scootnet2.net. Also, I am just curious, what is wrong with your half engine case?

Hi bud thanks for reply I just posted there also… I have recently brought a p200 engine with no flywheel side casein. I've now brought all the inner parts and just need the flywheel side casein to finish.. I have a spare px one but would prefer to match if I can! Thanks p

Rule is never match different halves. Cases were machined as a pair in the factory for crank and gearbox centricity, so whatever you use now it won't be a pair. If you already have a PX half, use it, since it won't make any difference…

If I can't find one then I will most likely use the px one.. I just wanted one that was for the p200 as I know the casein looks slightly different to px, ie oil filler! Etc Thanks for Suggestions.

You can't use mismatched case halves, bc the factory did the machining after pairing them. And it's all the crank and cylinder that can fail there.

Like what everyone has said so far, you can't bolt mismatched cases together. That being said, for decades MANY people (Including myself) have done exactly just that for with zero repercussions. I'm sure we have all seem WAY bodgier things done to a Vespa engine! No guarantees of your final build outcome though.

Yes agree kind of.. I've heard of people that just don't have and can't get the parts for some reasons and have to use what they can with no troubles. Maybe a dirty engine from oil leaks but nothing that will stop it from working just fine.. of course it's not the preferred method of building an engine but if that's all you have to hand then so be it… scooter loop! We love it 🛵

Been running mismatched halves for a few years on my p200. Works a charm. Agree matching cases are ideal, but the fact is the tolerances aren't so exact on these old things.

I have an extra flyside case but it is warped and no good to use as the Kick start wouldnt return Due to the warp… You'd have to pull it back up with your foot.

More than just Not preferred...it is not a good idea. Can it be done-sure, is it recomended-definitley not. Using mismatched halves is intentionally adding in a point of potential failure. Maybe tomorrow, maybe a year from now; but the chances of numerous issues increases exponentially with mismatched halves. Some do it with success, but I'd say 1/10 maybe dont have issues. if you're going thru all the trouble of building, why not do it proper and get a matched set. Perhaps you can sell the 2 separate halves you already have to recoup some funds. Seems like alot of effort to include a known cause of problems.

I have one, but it's going to cost you a G... which it would seem you don't have.

Have you checked to make sure that the kickstart quadrant shaft wasn't bent?
