After checking the wiring diagrams, it appears there are two wire connections for a 6V VBC coil - a red and a black (excluding the spark plug wire).

My coil only has one wire tab (see photo).

My guess is that this is for red as the coil is grounded to the frame.

Any thoughts from the experts?

So, red from the coil tab to the junction box to connect to the other red from the harness, correct?

Yup.

Red from stator —> junction box. Then run two reds off that ... one to the HT coil, the other to the ignition switch via the harness.
