I have bought a bunch of these dipsticks and gift to friends. You know it's for the engine oil and not for the transmission you're comparing it to, right?? They're fine and dimensions are correct…

So, the photo I posted is fake?? It's the same dipstick on a GTS/V, engine. Piaggio moved the oil dipstick from the CVT side to the flywheel / water pump side on later models. If your GTV has it on the CVT side there's one for it too...

Thanks for the obvious. Don't be so touchy.

This below photo was part of the set or "pair or set" I ordered. A pack of both. One fit great the other…
This half of the pair from AliExpress no problem.

Seems like SaFiS has a good point. Why are you posting all these conflicting photos and messages if you know the correct choices and configurations?

I'm not being touchy, just stating the obvious too. You're dishing on Ali products that are fine for specific models but apparently not for yours...

Maybe, next time, do your homework before you buy something wrong and then post conflicting info about it??

The left is for HPE engine oil. NOT classic GTS or your 2016 GTV.

The right is for hub oil.

Of course they're different.

Doh.

posts like this make me wonder how many HPE owners (not Duck) who say theirs doesn't use any oil have been checking the hub oil level instead of the engine oil

Roughly the same number that experience complete and "unexpected" engine failure.

I ordered the pair for my GTV. The pair was for both oil and drive. Came in a nice box. Packaged real well. Foam cut outs and everything. Looks great. Just not what was supposed to be in the order. That's all. Probably turn it in to a letter opener or ice pick.

Heck, go check the classifieds. Might be surprised.

Next time, it might be worth explaining that right at the start.

could also have just said

"I didn't look at the photo plus the description was wrong and I ended up with the wrong part. Buyer beware: don't trust descriptions on amazon/ebay/ali etc."

(the photos on ali of that dip stick show it being inserted into an hpe *not* inserted into the hub of a gts)

Duck could even have a description in his other post where he is selling it that mentions HPE and not hub and to also to not have a photo of the hub dipstick.
