I stumbled into this article and video about a woman who rode her Vespa from Singapore to Europe and spent time getting helped by SIP, the subject of another thread on MV at the moment. The link below, which I hope works, tells the amazing story.

Juvena is a lovely, lovely human being. I've followed her travels for some time, and love her attitude and sense of adventure. She tops my short list of scooter adventurers.

They call her the "The Wandering Wasp".

Don't miss the you Tube video towards the end of the article titled "14 months on the Road - Adventures and Misadventures".

It shows her riding and falling on impossible roads and in impossible traffic. WOW!

I always wonder how these people can pull a long a$s trip and not have to worry about life (work, family). Getting on the road on a ride for a long time is badass but not many people can do it(money, time, family and other responsibilities).

I imagine we all would, I'm just hoping when I can afford to retire I have not only my health and enough funds but still retain the same desire to explore as I do now.

My idea of roughing it is slow room service.

I've explored new places all over the world by bicycle including Vietnam and Cambodia. Riding at bicycle speed into a new town in Europe is my idea of heaven. There are support companies like Backroads, which organize such trips with support vans and pre-arranged hotels. Are there such trips by Vespa? I'm almost ready for a Vespa trip in Italy, or France or Spain. But I'd want a trip via secondary roads.

I realize you hard core Vespa riders will scoff at the idea of such fluff rides. I have a lifetime of zero motorcycle/scooter experience.

At 70 I'm in my first year and first thousand miles of owning a gas powered two wheel vehicle. I wonder how many here remember the early low confidence days. The idea of riding a Vespa on the interstate sparks fear, I'm afraid.

Still a Vespa wimp but I'm out there getting experience. Or soon will be when my bicycle accident induced crushed elbow heals!

Cheers all!

The cartoon almost captures me. The building however should have been a Marriott and I'm inside in a warm bed ordering breakfast. Scooter is in the garage.

To the person outside hanging from the rope I'd be saying: "Have a wonderful adventure! Ride safe and post tons of pictures"

Sound like you are more adventurous than 90% of us and anyone riding a Vespa is more adventurous than 90% of the general population.
Stick to the back roads. It's a lot more interesting than riding on interstates. I had good results the few times I used the motorcycle route app, Calimoto. I plan to start doing overnight trips once the weather warms up. After a few trips I imagine you will be planning a ride across the country. 😊

Our youngest turned 11 this month, so we only ride day trips. Although, we did go on a family/club scooter camping trip to the Grand Canyon several years back. With three kids and a dog, we needed to cupcake our eldest with a trusted friend. It was so much fun!

Thanks for posting this, used to follow her on that journey and now I just did again . It's been awhile. Having travelled the world for so many years for work, I've generally found that regular people on the ground no matter where I've been are good. Yeah there's a few bad apples everywhere, easily avoidable. Whether walking, driving a rental car or in a taxi, I always imagined myself riding my P2 there. Always hoping to do some iron ass ride a great distance, but can't ever seem to make it happen.

Boy I see what you mean by the editing. For me the content was worth it. I'm sure that editing affects some more than others.

I'm again reminded of the wide world we live in!
