Do you use both your mirrors equally?
I find I use my left significantly more than my right (don't know if this relates to which side of the road we ride on)

Both equally. At stop lights I monitor both mirrors and 'wag' the scooter left and right. Wagging the tail light creates motion to supposedly catch the attention of someone approaching from behind. Also check my mirrors while on the move. Cars seem to be driving much more careless than I recall. At the same time I still visually/physically check before changing lanes. Even scooter mirrors can have a blind spot.

Hi there, speaking of mirrors, I just replaced the two on my 2007 GTS 250.
I find that the right one fits perfect, but the left one has to over rotate to feel secure and stable/tight. This essentially makes the left mirror useless given that all I see out of it is the opposite side of the street. Did I just get a faulty left mirror or is there a fix for this? Thank you in advance. |

You need to understand how mirror attachments work - yours has fallen out of adjustment. On the 150 the mirror stem is screwed into the base ("perch") and placed in the proper position even if the threads are a little loose. Then a top nut is screwed down onto the perch and squeezes the stem threads so the stem can't rotate. Sounds like your top nut needs some more torque.
There are little tricks for holding the stem and the various nuts in place while they're tightened down. Different models operate with slightly different variations on this theme - some have reverse threads in order to theoretically fail more gracefully if the mirror is hit, etc. You really should understand this for your specific model because it is completely unnecessary to have to go to a shop for an adjustment like this, or to suffer from the poor visibility that an misadjusted mirror confers. |

The jam nut locks the mirror at the desired angle. |

I just tightened the mirror by turning it. I didn't realize there was a jam nut.
Am I able to mess with the jam nut with the headlight cover on or do I need to disassemble all of the upper plastics? Thank you again! |

You shouldn't have to remove plastics to tighten the mirror nuts. You might have to remove other accessories, though, like a phone mount.

I use both mirrors a LOT. I always want to know everything about the bubble I'm in - or not in. Looking in the mirrors helps.
Having said that, I do use the left mirror (we ride on the right) a bit more than the right one. |

I use both mirrors about equally. I'm lucky to live in an area with lots of twisty roads to ride. So both mirrors are useful for looking around curves behind for any oncoming riders/drivers. And of course when on multi-lane freeways both mirrors and head checks before lane changes.

Staying alive on two wheels is aided by constant 360 degree awareness.
I seem to be constantly checking the mirrors. Also, riding scoots has made me a safer car driver. This morning (colder than a well diggers behind in Minnesota) lite snow blowing over the frozen road surface caused slippery conditions. The road looks fine, but is actually bad. On the expressway, two cars in front of me start doing the tilt-a-whirl and banged into each other coming to a stop perpendicular to me blocking both lanes. Not following close saved me - but then it was all rearview mirror anticipating those coming up at speed from behind. Like being on a scoot, my first instinct was looking back. Saved my bacon - I nudged over to the shoulder and let a follower pass by and slam into the first two cars. Bob Copeland

Wow, Bob. Glad you did not get hurt. I love Minnesota but just not living there in winter!

I check each every 15-20 seconds.
Liberty has top quality Vespa mirrors...just too short for my shoulders. Installed long stem mirrors from Italy on my Kymco ....superb rear vision! O.S. |

I clipped a pole in a parking garage and broke the right mirror off my CityCom. It was the longest ride home only having one mirror! Luckily I always purchase an extra set of mirrors and brake levers for all my scooters, because those are 2 things I can't ride without.

When you're blasting past everyone, the blind spot is behind you...where the flashing lights appears. The amount of impending trouble goes up the longer you don't see them.
I use both mirrors equally. Sometimes for traffic on either side, but usually one to watch for vehicle traffic and the other for sidewalk traffic because "uh, oh...people!" |

I remember a London rider on here saying he'd removed his mirrors...for appearance reasons.
He posted, "I'll just turn around and look if I want to see behind me!" Great idea when riding in heavy stop/go traffic ..... O.S. |

I use both mirrors, the left one is pointed out a bit, the right for distance behind
I turn around & look every time I change lanes, especially in heavy traffic The mirror position on my MP3 sucks, too far back, too close in The standard on the lever perch would be better mounting point I bought some 3/4 x 1 aluminum bar stock to make extensions, so I can use a more standard mirror, probably one that lights up... |

I use the left one more often when cruising canyon two-lane roads. In the good old days I seldom had a RH mirror and a few riders used dental mirrors to be legal. These days twin mirrors are a must because of traffic and my creaky neck.
