Love my 2007 GTS. 11K miles, service myself and all runs great.
I've been tempted by the 2022 models, the 300 Super HPE, etc..
Realize the delta in what I might be able to sell my 2007 for and the price of a new one may be significant, but wonder if any others have made a similar upgrade?
Was it worth it for you?
TIA

I upgraded my '08 250 GTS a few years ago to a '15 300 GTS ABS. Was the upgrade worth it? Yes, it was.

I just upgraded from my 2006 GTS 250 with 63,000 miles to a new 2022 GTS 300 HPE and there is no comparison. This new scoot has a very noticeable increase in power over the old scooter and the added safety features are nice ABS traction control. I don't regret the upgrade at all but after 16 years and all those miles I got my money's worth out of the old one.

Thank you both,
Going to be a busy Spring I believe. In addition to possibly upgrading my GTS, I'm hoping to sell my vintage BMW R65. Trouble is, each time I ride that I enjoy it too much.

I have three GT200s, 2005, 2006 & 2007.
Lots of miles on all of them, but I don't feel a need to trade any of them.
One reason is that a few years ago, when I felt a need for a little more performance, I was riding home on I-10 with a new (non HPE) GTS300 following.
When we got into town, before he headed home, we stopped to talk about the ride.
He said that he was running wide open throttle to keep up with Rocket, my old GT.
And I had a little throttle to spare.
So I bought an Xmax.
And kept all three Vespas.

I guess that has to do more from which aspect you see things..
I had the gts 300 super of 2009 from new for 11 years when the previous summer i sell it to buy the new hpe 2021 euro 5 model.
If you are a tech quy for sure this is an upgrade you wont regret.ABS/ASR is a plus for sure. The additional torque of the hpe engine is noticeable even from the first ride.I will agree with the previous fellow- the quasar engine seems to reach at higher speed but as i said it seems. The hpe has plenty of power hiden and stopped by the electronics. For instance if you change the abs ring, no quasar engine can come near you.
On the other hand no complaints from my old gts super, nice scoot which lived with me for 50k klms without problems. So if you are more of a vintage guy this is the path.

I updated from a 2009 GTS 250 to a 2020 GTS HPE. I wasn't dissatisfied with the 2009, but I wanted the additional performance and the safety aspects of ABS and traction control. The styling is subtlety different, but the deep blue color of the 2020 just grabbed me by the eyeballs. I miss the outside air temp and RPM bar on the dash of the 2009. The handling and ride of the 2020 are also better.
I am happy with the upgrade to the HPE, with the exception of the pain in the butt oil dipstick/filler on the HPE.

One of my buddies is looking for an older GTS. If you end up selling, hit me up. I might have a buyer for you depending on color.

Don't sell your 250 until the warranty expires on the new bike. What will you ride when it's in the shop?

I'll just say that my recent "upgrade path" wasn't exactly predetermined par moi: my December accident, and subsequent totalling-out of Melody by the talking lizard, forced my hand. Haven't gotten the new ride yet, but I'm anticipating nice things. Wasn't disappointed with Mel, though.
