This could be self inflicted. I have been running the Bev all winter and I have noticed the odd bit of liquid on the floor when its parked up. It doesn't look like coolant though but there are pink salty deposits around what I think is the water pump area of the engine casing. Same colour as the coolant in the bike and where you check in its top up tank.

A mechanic has seen these photos and thinks the water pump casing is badly corroded and could have become porous. Is this possible? It doesn't look like the coolant in the header tank is going down? Someone else has suggested it might be spraying a fine coolant mix out of one of the joints. The roads are very mucky and salty here in the UK over winter also.

I struggle to get down and clean stuff with my Arthritis. What can and should I do?

Photos attached.

The weakest part of the BV350 cooling system IMHO is the hose connected to the thermostat. I see you replaced some clamps. If you replaced the clamp on the thermostat, tighten it up. If not, replace it. You'll see how it's the loosest hose in the system.

Thanks. I never replaced anything on it though but the dealer when I bought it last year may have done as I had a coolant leak issue soon after I took ownership of it that took a while for them to resolve. I know next to nothing I am afraid but my plan is to give the area a clean and go round any hoses I can see with a screwdriver.

Replace ALL of the band clamps with quality worm style ones. If they're not already leaking, they will start to at some point. Make sure you remove the floorboards and get the radiator connections too.

These are good:

Sizes will obviously vary depending on the hose diameter.

Edit: I see someone has already done this on the water pump. Tighten those up and your leak should go away... Unless it's the water pump itself that's failed. You can tell if coolant comes out as described here:

Thanks. Useful advice. Will check the clamps first.

I had to replace two clamps for leaking when I got my 2013 BV350... so I replaced them all. I'm slowly doing the same for the Vespas
