Hey all.
Looking into this t5.
Thoughts on what it's worth.
It's all original from what I can tell.
But it's rough. Engine will need a full build as well.

Well the engine has the original cylinder on it. But not the original 24/24G carb. Seat is gone. Rear light is gone. Cowl rubbers, gone.
I tried locating the engine vin numbers on the stamp plate of the engine swing arm (where the vin numbers should be) and that is blank. The seller told me that in the documents of the bike's history, there was a work order got engine installation, but nothing more than that. The seller himself doesn't know a thing about the bike. He bought it, hired some guy to strip the Original paint, and the guy who (poorly) stripped it, left the bike to sit for a number of years. Now the seller wants to unload it. I attached one more pic. |

Looks like a T5, probably is, but make sure it has the correct engine that is famous for. Easiest giveaways are the kickstart and the cylinder cowl...

Man. I thought the Kickstarter was installed upside down. Lol.
Has the cylinder shroud. Has the kick start Has the original cylinder Even has the same flywheel as seen in your pic. But I'm unsure of the cases. Unsure if they have the 5 ports or not. Could it be possible to put 3 port cases with the 5 port cylinder? |

I'd say 99% it's a T5 motor. Kickstart is PX that's why it sits like this on the T5. You said the carb is wrong, I'm afraid the whole "tub" is wrong, which is also unique to the T5 and an "unobtainium" part nowadays. I've been looking for one (to have on the shelf) for over a year now, but no luck...

I'm at 99 of it being a T5 motor
the carb situation isn't the end of the world. it may have the OG box and just not the carb or filter or top. worst case you could always port a stock box to match the T5 inlet, get the right (or a better carb) and filter and what not. the T5 kickstart quad is a strange beast and only fits T5 or rally style levers. so it looks like the mushed a PX one on there. so, anyway it's non injection which is fine. how's the frame look under the floor mats and spoiler? how's the speedo and gauge cluster and does all that shit work? I'd triple check the vin to make sure it's actually T5 and not excel now onto the million dollar question: how much loot? |

So I have to tinker a bit to get it going. I kinda wanted to see considering all this info, what you think is a fair price to pay. |

I kinda wanted to see considering all this info, what you think is a fair price to pay. a T5 motor is easy 1K open market, and a bike that's a roller is worth somewhere between 500~1500 depending on what it is. so something like 1~2.5 basically, you're buying 99% of a T5 motor and about 80% of the rest of a T5. but the catch is all the little fiddly bits: the seat is dough, if the instrument panel is waxed there's mas dinero, getting all the *right* bits for the motor, some trim bits and the windshield. you could easily dump 2K into this with just tires, tubes, cables and cosmetic. then addressing the motor. figure a soft parts rebuild at 500 and that's before paint! I mean, sure you could rattle bomb it for the time being. cruise it around and then decide what you wanna do from there. the thing that it really boils down to is do you really really want a T5? if so then you're gonna drop the loot. I'd run the comps and see what you come up with. I've seen them trading hands in the 4~5 range for very nice examples. you'd be MILES ahead if you scooped something even if it was a little tatty in the 3K range than with this as a starting point. just back of the bar napkin math puts that into that 4 range easy money. as a benefit, you're in Canada so there's more examples up there than down here. long ramble cut short, I'd say no more than 2K maybe 22 if it came with the standard "mystery rubber tote full of parts" and tags were set up and they delivered it to me. |

that's pretty much it ^.
if you want a T5, you will go for it. Down here there are none available unless I get Greasy to part with his, but that ain't gonna happen. I guess Canada had some? Finding T5's in the US is like finding PK's. There are a few but if you want one you can't be choosy... Speaking of PK's, he's got one of those too. Hmmm. |

I got your Cosa, it's even a late model 'Mark II'! So it's got your convenient oil level gauge, lovely single cable shifter AND factory aluminum cylinder that needs that odd muff connection w/ a flange - all normally only available in Europe. You're in for a treat!
But for you my friend, dead cheep and I mean like the price of a good meal. I prefer downtown. With a few friends of course, but still we're talking CHEEP! You pay the postage please, and sorry, bill of sale only. Motor is together and runs well take my word, and the rest is mostly complete and in nice sturdy boxes, the way you are used to and likely prefer so there's still a bit of a challenge to keep you properly engaged! Shoot me your shipping address. |

How much to import one from the UK? Cosas, PKs and T5's (the original and classic) a plenty over here. Cosa's go for pennies, pick up a mint 200 for less than 2k, PKs are on the up and T5's 3k sterling upwards. We get plenty of TX200's turning up too from spain. (t5 look alike with p2 engine).

I have no idea how many T5's are located in the US, but I think there's about 5 different ones that reside up here in Oregon? What I'm curious about is where Rolf's immaculate jet black T5 went to after he passed. His scooter was the shiniest black anything that I've ever seen!
