First time I've seen this. Did I miss the thread? If you have a mill at home, a 125 case and wish it was a 200, this would be the ideal kit for those who don't trust the pinasco 251.

To be honest, not heard anything bad about the 251… not heard of any exploding engines yet…

Besides the rubber intake, and the fact that most of the engine will be pinasco parts…

Interested to see how well the BFA does compared to the quatrinni

I guess the true limit of the displacement is going to determined by how big and wide the opening of the engine cases are and how wide you can go on the engine cylinder studs to accommodate a larger cylinder in between. You will also have plenty of vertical space (stroke) to go up.

Have you heard about their new clutch?

Aluminum basket
Five discs.
Needle bearing instead of the brass bushing.

If their aluminum clutch basket is whole lot lighter weight design than a billet steel version, then the crankshaft should have a MUCH easier life! I think it was Parma(?) who made a titanium largeframe clutch basket back around 2010. They might have only made a few? I never actually saw them for sale though. And as for price of the BFA clutches, do they cost more or less than any of the fancy Casa Performance clutches?

Crimaz do a similar clutch but the BFA looks better. For similar $$$. Great looking clutches sure they work well. All ok until spare parts are needed, which then cost $$$$.

244 cylinder looks usable. 127 conrod and non crittical case machining and your 125 is a 244 Wha? emoticon Scooter emoticon

Still think the biggest downfall of the large frame clutches is that the fact they're attached to the crank…

Did think about buying the BFA clutch for a nano second, but not sure how much difference it will make on a sub 30HP engine…

I imagine the small frame engine handles the clutch rotational forces better…

The older version (old, as in last year Laughing emoticon ) uses CR80 plates. Rated up to 50hp:

Impressive bit of engineering there, in order to de-stress the basket enough to make it in aluminum Clap emoticon

It might benefit more than you would think?...with less rotational weight hanging off the crank, an engine with lower torque should be able to wind up its RPMs much quicker...which means faster launches.

Deep pockets, plenty of shop toys and a willingness to spend months tweaking. I'm sure someone on here will tackle this sooner or later!
