Edit 'first world problem' rant
Hi all I hope you're keeping well.
I managed to replace the front headlight bulb on my GTS 300 but in doing so have snapped one of the mirror off so thread is still in there.
I thought what I could do is get replacement master covers for both that don't have holes for the factory mirrors and bar end mirrors.
But…. I'm located in Western Australia and there are no funky Vespa parts store here.
Does anyone know of such a store in Australia to purchase these items from or anyone in the US who can ship to me without killing me on shipping fees?
Thanks
Paul

You should be able to drill in to the post and extract the remainder of the bolt. Then just buy a replacement mirror.

Thanks, that's an option. But still need to find items, which is the difficult part based upon my location.

It can not be particularly difficult to buy a screw extractor in Australia. The first question, however, is whether you broke the left or right mirror. On your GTS, I believe the right mirror uses a reverse (LH) thread. If you broke that one, the reverse thread may explain the break.

This is from Amazon Australia, I'm sure they will ship to you or you might even be able to find it cheaper at a local hardware store, but this is what you want.

If you own and have ever used a drill, this will be super easy, just start slow.

Great choice of Vespa !!!
I am sure you will get great advice on how to extract the screw!!

as far as products and accessories go...

We have the same problem here in Canada even if we are nearby.
Shipping from USA is crazy expensive plus duty and taxes etc.
Cheaper to ship from Europe and England, still not cheap.

the cheapest is from China probably for you as well.

If you want to block off the hole and not extract the screw you can
get caps from ebay in grey (I assume you have the titanium grey gtss300)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/184592367237?hash=item2afa8ffe85:g:g7YAAOSw-R9f4uk8

Or you can get the reservoir covers with no mirror hole. https://www.ebay.com/itm/184592367237?hash=item2afa8ffe85:g:g7YAAOSw-R9f4uk8

Or .... ''carbon fiber'' 3d stickers https://www.ebay.com/itm/112104190702?hash=item1a19ee32ee:g:XOkAAOSwZVlXucIY

Cut a slot in the broken off thread with a dremel cut off wheel
Use a thick wheel or put 2 wheels together, so you can use a big screwdriver or hand impact

If it's a left handed thread a regular drill bit, may catch & spin the threads out

OK, I think members are assuming that you want to remove the broken mirror thread whereas all you want to do is to replace the existing brake master cylinder covers with ones without holes like these on ebay (UK) and buy some bar end mirrors?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vespa-GTS-Master-Cylinder-Cover-BGM-Titanium-Grey-Without-Mirror-125-250-300-/292988988853?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

If that's the case, you can buy them and have them sent to me and I can forward them to you at the basic postal charge.

Alternatively, Spirovision's idea is good and would be a lot cheaper.

Good morning everyone, thanks for your replies and advice. I knew this was the best place to ask.
I'll weigh up my options once I have done some research.
I'm kind of thinking of caps and bar end mirrors, I just need to find the right ones.
Awesome, safe riding all and much appreciated✊

If you decide to replace the broken mirror I have a spare you can have. If it is the left-hand thread mirror then one of those screw extractors won't work. (Do they make them for LH threads?) Anyway in that case a large self-tapping screw might do the job, with lots of WD40.

I replaced the mirrors on my 2018 model with the new shorty ones.

Aren't you in Perth? There are definitely Vespa owners in your vicinity and at least one dealer.

What a great place to ride. I've been there three times, twice by sea and once by air, but never on two wheels.

Modern Vespa is the premier site for modern Vespa and Piaggio scooters. Vespa GTS300, GTS250, GTV, GT200, LX150, LXS, ET4, ET2, MP3, Fuoco, Elettrica and more.
