Hi,
I've got a Gilera Fuoco 500 that had a dead battery so I removed it to replace/recharge. Unfortunately the saddle has locked shut and I now can't access it as without the battery the electronic latch won't open. Can't put the battery back as it goes in the saddle compartment so a bit stuck! Any advice gratefully received!
Thanks
Matt

Have you tried the manual release by inserting key in ignition, pushing and turning key simultaneously???

At least that is how it works on the current gen MP3

Thanks for your reply- I did try that but it doesn't seem to work- presume you push the opposite way to opening the fuel cap? Mine is a 2016 model- not sure if that is latest model?

I've tried that again and it doesn't work but it is shown in the manual as a solution so you are right- it should work. Could the cable be broken and if so is there any other way of opening it?

If all else fails, try and try again. It is an awkward maneuver. Also use your free hand to try to grab a hold of the saddle base as you work the key.

Just make sure you push the key in all the way as you turn it.

Is it the same as the MP3?
Open the rear boot hatch with the key and about 6 or 7 inches in, you'll find the seat release cable. Give it a tug.

As sbaert says it can be awkward ( my fuoco is a 2008) as you turn the key push down on the rear of the seat to take pressure off the seat catch ,this is what i have to do sometimes.
