Are the 2 rear view mirrors interchangeable? Was planning to purchase a well priced LEFT side mirror … my bike now has the left side mirror. I'm sure I can swap it to other side to test but want to be sure if they are interchangeable. Anyone know? The mirror I'm looking to purchase has same part number.. like I said it's being sold as a left side… which I have. Mine in photo has a "L".. guessing it's left which leads me to believe they are not interchangeable.

How about you try putting the one you have on the other side?

I don't know about a 200L, but some models use left-hand threads on one of the mirrors. That would make them non-interchangeable. I'd first check the threads on the mirrors.

In my experience the left-handed thread is on the right stalk. Reason: a hit from the front rotates each mirror in a different direction, and you want the mirror to loosen if possible, not break.

Aren't the arms bent in a particular direction? I don't see how these could be interchangeable, regardless of threads.

If you don't want to swap your mirror over to verify this, you could also compare left/right part numbers on a parts website

it does not, the mirror mounts for the GT are standard thread

for my 2009 GTS (and I'd guess all bikes pre 2014-ish):

iirc the *mirror* (including thread) is the same but the *rubber gromet* is different for left vs right hence the different part number as when purchasing they come with grommets. grommets are reusable/swapable when replacing mirrors

Yamaha is known for using standard and left hand threads, but there may be others as well.

It fits.
But a right mirror is less than $40. That's not a lot.

The L on the rear of your left mirror is unlikely to mean left. In Italian it would be S for Sinestre, and the right would be D as in Destre.
And if Sinestre reminds you of perhaps . . . sinister . . . there's a good reason. Left handedness was considered sinister many moons ago. Right handed people now just feel common as against the approximate 10% of the population who are left handed and special. As I saw once, "everyone is born right handed and only the best get over it".
