I have a phbl 28 with the malossi conversion kit i got as an extra when I bought my P200 (its still in the packaging) and I am thinking of just installing that carb instead. I have the longer cables, the manifold and everything else needed. I tried to find installtion vids/ posts but only found one on throttle cable install.

What do you guys think? worth it? any good links?

Found this Italian one! but its more about the carb itself
This one is good

The PHBH 30 can be a good match to the kit, especially with the right exhaust. You'll need to get it set up, though, or you're going to seize it. Honestly, though, you took that risk on as soon as you put a non-stock top end on it, now we're just negotiating degrees.

How are your carb tuning skills?

Side drafts are a different beast than SI's, both for better and for worse. You may also need to get a larger throttle pulley up in the headset, but I'm not certain about that.

I thought the Pinasco 215 would set up just fine with a stock carb, other than minor jet changes.

This...

Don't bother with the Pinasco. Just an overpiced, "stockish" ally kit, designed and stuck in the 80s...

a new spaco will be worth the lack of frustration in dialing in that modern carb. just the brass bits you will need to jet it (the phb) in will cost more than the spaco replacement.

This. I've literally spent more on additional main jets and N48 needles for my Smallstate's carb than the price of Spaco. And I *already had a bunch of Keihin main & idle jets*!

You "should" have luck with just a spring-loaded needle and seat inspection/cleaning.

If you do end up needing another SI, the BGM faster-flow 24/24 should tune better than the 26/26 there. Not much more $ for a better carb vs a Spaco not reworked in Europe.

They still have the frustrating mixture screw, though. You can cut it to the 1st hex and cut a slot in the head for a screwdriver, or get the BGM "short" screw.

Welp got the new Spaco, hooked it up and guess what Its ALIVE!! Runs strong, and now have to play with the jetting and hook up the speedo, one more blinker bar light, stickers on the front fender and ride it around. There is an air bubble in the oil line but I read that will be there for a bit till it gets all the way up, is this correct? I added oil to the gas for now....so excited!

How big of a bubble? I had a small one, however it was gone after a short ride, maybe 5 miles.

This pic is just before speedo install but after bar end blinkers. I will post more pics tomorrow

The floor is just tack welded to the frame and then painted over. Oils coming through a weak spot in the paint. Probably coming from one of the o rings at the oil tap.

Pull the tank and it'll be obvious.
MJ's suggestion or the sight glass, which can crack or just loosen from vibration.

Going to be a pool down there. Left both of mine. Can't imagine that oil hurting anything
