Out in South Africa, we use those screw-top Instruction Manual holders that Jurko has on his rack for holding tools on DS motorcycles.
We also found an interesting and I am sure purely co-incidental alternative application as well... they fit a 750ml bottle of whisky, brandy, bourbon or other spirits PERFECTLY. |

While we ponder with or without a topcase, Piaggio has invented the obvious solution. Picture below is a "robot topcase" invented by Piaggio. It's current use is pedestrian. It follows a walker. But this is the test case for their ultimate objective.
The Vespa follow me topcase. It's rolls on wheels at 60 mph behind your Vespa thus giving you the carrying capacity while your Vespa remains sleek and top case free. It could carry your helmet or groceries or even your cat! Piaggio Invention.

Plot twist: you miss your turn; your Piaggio robot topcase doesn't. It's already at the hotel. You're broken down on the side of the road...and your tools are in the topcase.

When I got my Liberty 150 I was planning to get a Givi B32NMAL 32LTR MONOLOCK CASE because is is more rectangular than roundy, which I like the looks of better.
However, I had some leftover stuff that I kept when I sold my dual-sport motorcycle; Nelson-Rigg panniers (27.5L each) and an Oxford F1 tail pack (35L when expanded-12.5 inches, less when not to 8 inches high). So I decided to use these. The tail pack stays on all the time. The panniers are thrown on when I need maximum hauling space. I was using a small cheap backpack on the bag hook, but it wore out. I found a great replacement that fits the space better, an Icon Hi-Viz Squad 4 Backpack (23L). It fits nicely as it is 21H, 11W, 6D. More room on the floorboards for my feet because of the narrow width. So my "Liter" total is: 55L (Panniers) + 35L (tailpack) + 23L backpack = 113L. Not counting the under seat storage where I put rarely used stuff. FYI...I got all these bags from Dennis Kirk. They have good (comparable) pricing and ship fast. The great thing about this add-on system is that I have great flexibility with just the tail pack being fixed. For riding just for fun, nothing is added. For my commute I add the backpack. For grocery runs I add the backpack and panniers. I don't think I will be going for that Givi any time soon. I have no problem using the under the seat helmet pegs to store it, but usually just carry it with me. Nelson-Rigg Sierra Dry

I just carried 3 bags of Wal Fart brand unscented cat litter stacked on the floorboard. The 25 pound bags, not those horrible 50 pound bags! I also had 2 gallons of Arizona Green Tea in the top box. Unloading got a bit sketchy but I got the goods delivered.

Love it when someone says " I hope you don't take this the wrong way".
I then think: 1. Look out! 2. Don't worry, I'm not expecting a compliment!

Can the new top case for a 2022 GTS be mounted to the luggage rack? Or do we need to purchase the flat rack
