We have the "cheering you up" and "pissing you off" threads, so why not one for the weird?
Share your head-scratchers, your twilight zone moments, your head-tilters. Those times when you considered pulling over so you could laugh while shaking your head because...what WAS that?

Yesterday, while tracking down strings to replace the one I snapped on a viola, I'm out in the suburbs-turning-rural taking the fun way from one instrument store to another. It was mild to negligible wind, sunny, warm, no traffic...pleasant.
Suddenly, a random city trash cart lifts up from the side of the road and floats into my lane! I had time to stop, no fretting (ba-dum) there, but...not a trash can, one of those wheeled 96-gallon, city issued jobs.
Ooookay. Laughing emoticon

Guess the wind sprites wanted to remind me that it is, in fact, "unpredictable weather" March.

Nice topic.

Last fall sometime I was out riding the Stella up along the river. It's a one way with a 25mph speed limit. It was one of those beautiful mornings where it was cold and crisp and the sun was just burning the fog off the river. There were zero other people out. Absolute solitude.

As I was putting along I saw a pull-off on my left (river side) and thought to myself, "What a beautiful spot to pull over and snap a picture of the river."

I followed the spot with my eyes and head over my left shoulder and as I turned my head forward I realized that I was a lot closer to the shoulder than I thought. The road was wet so I didn't want to make any sudden jerky movements and my brain decided to just ride off the shoulder and gently steer back onto the road.

The shoulder didn't cooperate as it was four inches of mud. The front wheel twisted and I went down.

The funny thing was I was moving so slowly that it was almost a relaxing fall. It felt like slow motion as I'm thinking, "NOOOoooooooo ..."

It didn't even feel like an impact. More of a "smoosh" as my helmet dug into the mud and I rolled gracefully onto my back, the Stella laying gently down beside me.

I wouldn't choose to do it again, but as far as dumping my bike it was actually pleasant.

I was out camping in the Arizona desert 🌵 last year. About 1am I saw a glowing light in the sky. It looked a bit odd from the pattern of flight it was using, I thought UFO ? Well it turned out to be just that!! It landed about 20 feet away, and when it opened I saw two greenish people come out. They ignored me and went straight for my Vespa, and after a lot of probing they got back into their space ship and flew away. True story 👽😳
