I had seized rear shock adjusters on my 2008Vespa gts300 so replaced them with another used pair from a 2017 bike. I went for a ride with a pillion on back so I put adjuster up to top setting. But on riding heard a noise when going over bumps. I checked and saw that the end of centre stand where you put your foot on to stand bike up close mes up and bangs on my side crash bars when going over bumps. What does the mean? Are these shocks had it, are they wrong type or have I fitted them wrong? I know there seems to be two types as pics below

Two thoughts:
1: For shocks, the stiffest setting is generally 2-up and luggage. You might have had it a little stiff... but that shouldn't have caused your center stand to bounce while riding.

2: stand. Does the stand clear the bars or rest in contact? If it normally clears them at retracted rest and it's bouncing...sounds like the stand springs have stretched. If it's in contact when retracted, I'd wrap a pad of some sort, rubber or similar, around the contact points.

that's odd, is the arm for the stand bent? that's what I'd suspect.

I mean, that's far enough away that you shouldn't have a problem even with blowed out shocks. did you verify they were correct and installed correctly?

Stand isn't bent.its just the vespa side crash bar hits the centre stand end when going over bumps. Must be just a bad design and can't have a pillion with bars on

With the old shocks and with the side bars and with a passenger, you did not have this issue?
If not then your new shocks are or too weak or too short. Compare the length of the new to the old.

Diagnosis - the replacement shocks were shagged out, OR were a different spring strength in the first place.

could also be a missing rubber bushing at the top of the shocks, that would be about an inch
