This is an old school Cuppini windshield and I can not get one side off the Vespa ..I believe the end nipple is stuck so far into the part that expands in the handlebar slot. Cant get a hold on the the expanded part enough to unscrew and twist it out. Are the parts in the correct order in the photo?...or is that where i went wrong?

Loosen the large nut all the way first. This next part is going to sound counter intuitive but it works. Next you use a hammer and tap rather firmly the bracket straight back in the hole. This usually loosens it up and you can then pull the whole thing out. If it doesn't work at first hit it a gain a few times and then maybe try spraying a little WD-40 and try again. I have never not been able to get one out using this method.

JCG my bad I think you may have the parts backwards for a Cuppinin wind shield. It has been a long time since I had one. I am now using a Vespa Screen. I think on yours the cone shaped nut goes up against the large nut. Wait and lets see if anyone else has a Cuppinin shield and can confirm which way is correct.
