here ya go ya filthy animals. have at it!

ideas, concepts, builds, critiques, kudos, blatant and wanton disregard, outright hatred, blithe respectfulness, foul language and impertinent advice is all considered and welcomed.

just, like, don't be a dick. because rules still matter!

Before it gets started, could you point me to the stuff-a-huge-non-Vespa-motor in your scooter for peanuts.

I saw this video of the guy building an old Soviet scooter. You could fit a Bug engine in that thing.

Thanks and sorry.

yes, absolutely... www.google.com

in all seriousness, you've got a welder and hammers, with enough beer you'll figure it out.

There've been a few threads on the topic. I have had my own thoughts on how to do an electric conversion but keep the 4-speed manual transmission. I talked to a guy I used to work with who did BattleBots and he validated my thinking, but I never got past the design stage.

Up in Oregon, one of my friends swapped an electric motor into an old Primavera. This was back in the early 2000's. That probably made him one of the pioneers. The scooter wasn't especially fast...maybe around a 37mph top speed with a 40~mile range? It was many years ago, so I don't remember all the details. I do remember his main goal was to make it come to fruition with the current motor and battery technology that was available at the time.

I need a set of cases that are trashed enough that I don't feel bad cutting them up, but not cracked between the primary & the driveshaft like my old LML's.

I think that a 4-speed electric would be all kinds of fun, especially with the power output you can get out of a small-ish motor these days.

I'd happily buy an electric kit for my Super. I'd want removable battery, good range and not crazy expensive. Not gonna happen for awhile yet I think.
