I've been reading up on replacement headlights for my 1980 P200 and this one https://www.scootermercato.com/Scooter-Parts/Headlight-Assemblies/582946 with this bulb https://www.scootermercato.com/Scooter-Parts/Bulbs/H435-35 seems to be a pretty straight forward swap for the stock P200 bulb.

The Scooter Mercato listing says "Easy retrofit for older models". What does that mean and has anyone had any "surprises" installing one of these?

Does anyone have any recommendations for something better?

I put that setup in Ruby Luckybear a while back. It wasn't too difficult and is plenty bright. It's a ways down on this page: P200e - this time for real! (Ruby's Thread) (Page 5)

I agree, the newer headlight is a good relatively cheap replacement for tye older headlights.
I fitted one on my PX.
In Europe They fitted these to the "Millenium" PX.
Just be careful when ordering from Europe that they have a DOT cert mark on the lens as in Europe we have E numbers which I dont believe is accepted in the states? But if your lucky the headlight will have both, but always better to check before ordering…

I installed one in my 1977 P200 project.
Have only tested to with with a battery to check connections on new loom.
Seems really bright and is nice quality.

Bit of a thread-jack but what is that fender crest on your PX and what did the install require? I've been hoping to do something like that on my Stella. Thanks.

If you're planning to go a little crazy for better lighting, check out JW Speaker.

They make adaptive headlights and also seriously bright LED headlights. I have one in my Sprint and while it's tiny (4.5", but they now make a 4.75" that I think would fit), it's great.
