At what mileage to change hub oil.Manual says I think at 6000 miles if I am reading this right. Dealer told me they change it at first engine oil change.

do it at the first service and then do it each time you change out the rear tire. quick and easy that way and also easy to remember.

I had an LX150 for a number of years. Your post made me curious so I went back and looked in the manual for that scooter. It says change at 1000 km (600 mi - i.e. first service), check at each crankcase oil change, and change at 24,000 km (about 15,000 miles). Greasy's simpler approach will obviously do the job.

I looked at the owners manual and it showed to inspect but nothing about changing at any mileage that's why I am confused. It might be a misprint.

I thought it was change at first service and never touch again too. The manual does indeed say inspect every 10,000km but can oil leak out of there without making an obvious mess?

change it every tire change, it's cheap insurance and a quart will last you damn near the life of the bike. hell, change it every other tire change. just be sure to change it before things start making noise. because by then, it's too late.

they can leak a considerable amount before making a big mess. some have a vent tube that they'll push out of that leaks to the ground. others will push pas the input seals into the transmission or past the output and onto the wheel-- or for some models into the wheel and all over the brakes. so a check during oil change, and a change during tire change makes everything easy.

I just changed mine. Very easy job apart from refilling which is a bit fiddly.
There really wasn't a lot in there so I'm glad I took the time to do this.
