My average over the last 2.5 years is 17mi per dollar. Although I have beaten MetroRide's 25mi per dollar on the occasional fillup, over time it would have saved 33% (if my riding style gets the same range as the delivery people in the article).
I expect the cost structure in San Francisco would be very different than in Bangalore. Still, interesting to know this tech that has been rumored for years is actually deployed somewhere in the world.
I still can't imagine giving up my gas-powered one unless batteries were as reliable and ubiquitous as gas stations. I don't want to be stuck in the city, or stranded on the coast.
