Hi all - I am in search of a lightweight riding jacket for spring/summer. Any suggestions?? Does VESPA make any?

Don't know about any by Vespa but I just picked up a light jacket that has CE level 2 armor - Reax Alta. Rode a few hundred miles in it this weekend. Very pleased with it.

Klim makes $ome nice product$.
I buy from chormeburner as their prices are better than the revzilla/cycle gear option. I think my jacket is the "Timbuktu"....has D30 armor and is fairly cool in the heat. NOPE! The jacket is a Marakesh not timbuktu. Lame colors but works very sell. |

Oxford Spartan Mesh Short jacket. Armor and adjustments in the elbows. Armor in the shoulders. Removable liner for cooler weather/rain.
$79 at Revzilla, and XL-4XL showing in stock. Runs a little small. I've also had good luck with Joe Rocket products over the years. Good luck. |

Here's what I've worn over the past three years, though I'm not certain the Zilla has them in stock at the moment:

I bought this on Amazon for $74 with free returns so I could try it on:
WICKED STOCK Breathable All Seasons Mesh Motorcycle Riding Shirt for Men with CE (Certified) Protective Padded Shields. It's perpetual summer where I live so I wanted MESH! This will keep you safe and cool. Not warm or dry. But you wear a layer under it so could add warmth on cooler days. PS. What model year is your beautiful scooter? Easy to add to your profile. Just type the model year in front of the model in your profile. |

What ever you get, make sure it has armor in the right places - wrist, elbow, shoulder, spine area, etc...

FirstGear Mesh-Tex. Very cool in summer. Removable liner. Had the highest % of hi-viz I could find. Nice long 'tail' on the back. Add 5 pcs of good orange D-30 armor! Reflective strips are very effective at night! O.S.

OldScooot,
I also have all FirstGear riding jackets. Good Stuff. I also have two of there Torrent waterproof Duffel Bags. On extended rides, my group has been hit by some massive down pours. My FirstGear Bags always came through high and drive. Others, no so lucky even with what was suppose to be waterproof bags. Bob Copeland |

+1 for first gear
Had the mesh tex jacket, and also the Kilimanjaro. Really happy with the quality and they last long. |

I just bought the Rev'It Tornado 3 mesh jacket in Silver.
https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/revit-tornado-3-jacket The lighter color should keep me cooler in the sun and CE level 2 armor for good protection. The inner liner is also very warm to help extend the riding season; I rode last week in upper 40's/low 50's for over an hour and was perfectly comfortable. There are lots of great Armored mesh jackets (I've loved Cortech and Tourmaster jackets), but finding one that is lighter in color will be cooler in direct sun. |

I wear a faded red Firstgear mesh jacket with patched holes from a crash. If I was fashionable I'd buy a new one just like it.

This is what I got for Spring/Summer. They also make in black if you are not into Hi-Viz.
https://www.bohnarmor.com/product/all-season-airtex-armored-riding-shirt-high-visibility-yellow/ I also use it under my non-armored winter jacket. For summer, just a t-shirt under it. When it is cooler out I just wear a fleece under it and maybe my cheap non-woven jacket to cut the wind or if it rains. Frogg Toggs seems to have discontinued the jacket, but it is similar to this. It mainly stays stowed under the seat. https://www.amazon.com/COMPASS-Advantage-Non-Woven-Rain-Jacket/dp/B01H49PXVU?th=1 |

It has elbow armor with "extended forearm" which goes from elbow to base of my hand. The cuff of my gloves overlaps this piece of armor. Wicked stock Mesh shirt with armor

Like a moron, I left the liner for my FirstGear riding jacket hanging
up in the hotel room on an extended ride. Now, I just put on a Columbia Fleece sweater under the jacket. Seems to work well. Bob Copeland I love this Columbia Fleece stuff. Wears well in the cold north.

Bob,
I was often adding and removing the Firstgear liner and got tired of the sleeve/snap routine and ended up using a fleece vest instead. It's plenty for Socal "weather." |

I bought a Corazzo armored jacket on Ebay for a song - definitely not windproof so I'm thinking it'll still be wearable during all but the hottest weeks of summer. From a March standpoint I'll say the jury's still out.
