At the La Ducati Day in La Honda, there was a guy, Bernard, selling the Vizi-Tec SupaBrake Flasher. What it does is flash the brake light several times to alert the driver behind you, then it operates like a normal brake light. He had several models, but nothing for Vespa. He said if I would help him with the wiring and plug design, he would send me one. A few digital pix and some emails later, it arrived. The only issue I had was the stiffness of the ViziTec wires made it a bit hard to wedge into the recess behind the taillight. I told Bernard and he said future models will use less stiff insulation. The whole unit takes less than a minute to install and fits perfectly between the tail and brake bulbs.

Any idea how much this guy wants for one? I went to his website and there is no pricing listed.

Probably the same. I wonder if you have the same space behind the taillight. I would look at yours compared to a GTS before ordering.

Knowing that the Back Off! XP is only $30 and has multiple flashing modes, what is the advantage for using the Ducati module?

Plug-n-Play? No wires to cut or splice? Slightly different programming modes? That's my guess.

Sorry I don't know anything about the "back off". This thing is working great for me. It is plug and play. No splicing. I saw Aerostich has a replacement taillight bulb that claims similar performance for $60. I don't think it comes in Vespa sizes. Also this unit is not a Ducati part, that's just where I met the guy selling them.

I installed the "back off" on my et4. Does require splicing but i used a crimping kit instead of sodering. Allows you to set it up various ways as far as the blinking goes. No complaints...pretty cool.

+1

It was very easy to install on my GTS, and the module is small enough to fit in the space behind the light.
