I have rebuilt my 300 gts 2012 matt black to Candy RED
New brake's, new disks.
New 294 cylinder polini.
New dr. pully vario.
New SIP Tacho.

I found that i dont have more power, maybe some less ?
Is there anybody who also installed the 294 cc cylinder ?
Maybe I need more petrol or Air ?
Can somebody give some advice ?????
Thx

Iirc the polini 294 comes with an electronic gizmo (can't remember what they call it) that i think basically squirts a small amount extra fuel. Did you install that part?

Maybe you got the switches wrong?

Or maybe you are expecting too much? The 294 is less than 6% bigger than the standard 278. How do you know you don't have more power? Maybe you do not it's just a small amount?

Or maybe some different rollers in the dr pulley might be better? Maybe even using standard vario and rollers while working out the polini might be a good idea

After all of the cost and effort to achieve your perfect look, I am a bit surprised that the beautiful scooter is to be ridden at all.

Shouldn't it be sitting on a pedestal in your living room?

I think, like said before, you expect to much from such a marginal increase in displacement. Even with the full Malossi kit with a cilinderhead with bigger valves the investment is hardly worth while for the small amount of HP gain.

Thx for the response.
And yes maybe I expect too much from the 294.
I'm going to play with the vario, and try with more air ?

Gee, a case where RED is not the fastest color. But it sure looks good!

Exceptional use of color blocking. One of the nicest scooters I've seen. Especially like what you've done with the 'knee covers' and front fork cover. The contrast stitching on the seat is also a nice detail.

When you say 'less power' are there specific times or riding conditions when you note this? Perhaps that will help isolate where you need to focus your tuning.

What he said!

Exceptional looking bike! I'm just drooling over the cosmetic details!

Did you do this work yourself?
Is it a custom seat or seat cover?
Tell me about the black windshield. Do they come that way?
I love the front and rear right and left indicator lights. Could you tell me the brand? Thanks

Hope the speed ends up matching your expectations.

And still breathing through the same valves and intake system.

After my Polini upgrade, I found that the new ECU greatly increased my fuel consumption and so I reverted back to the original Vespa ECU. and it is back to more acceptable levels.

I have just got that bike back from a friend that I loaned it to when his HPE was in the shop for an engine rebuild after oil starvation. Getting back onto the Polini bike, I can feel the 294 has more low end torque and better mid range power than my 2021 HPE.

My Vespa gugu has upgraded his HPE with a Polini 294, Melossi head and Melossi exhaust manifold and it really goes well riding in city traffic. He hasn't changed the pulleys so the top speed is still the same. He just gets there quicker - which is exactly what he was after to leave cars behind at the lights.

The 294 cylinder was the wrong choice. For more power you should have chosen the Malossi 282 cylinder kit with head. The larger valves in the Malossi head make a big difference.

Edit: Just reread the previous post. I didn't know one could combine the Malossi head with the Polini cylinder. One would have to work out the packing gaskets to get the compression right.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments and information.

For Billrush.
We have disassembled and built the scooter ourselves.
The color is Candy Apple Red.
Saddle is custom made, is from Audi Design.
The windshield is sprayed high gloss black and clear lacquer.
Flashing light grilles are from Brand MOTO NOSTRA. If desired, I can send your website link.
