What would cause a headlight cover lens to melt? There is a 3 inch long and 1/2 wide melted streak across the front/top, the bulb works and is not touching the lens, not even close.

On the GT200, perhaps something was left covering the headlight while the ignition was switched on. Similar incidents have been reported several times on MV, and this possibility eventually led to the headlights in later models only turning on when the engine is running and 'happy'.

Usually it's been a jacket that's been left draped over the handlebars.
