so, an off hand comment about some nonsense PK stuff and suddenly... this shows up:

hmm. okay... I see his penmanship is about the same as mine...

this is one half of the inspection team:

what's in the box!!?!!

whoah! holy crap!

dang man!!

so, now I need to fix my black foot pegs/crash bars so it'll all match!!

V, this is so, so awesome and very generous. you know my penchant for 80's nonsense and this really brought a smile to my face. totally unexpected and really uplifting for me in a stretch that's been total shit. I appreciate it so, so much and anything I can do to reciprocate (even if it's taking a cosa off your hands) know that it's done.

any time you're within striking distance of LA there's a bike to ride, cold beer and carne asada. mark it.

thank you my dude.

So I saw an ad on CL many years ago for a P200, but I'm 7 hrs away...

So here's what transpired:

What to do......what to do.....
I know, I'll PM that guy V oodoo and see if I can beg him to go look at it!

PM sent and he was at the guys house within the hour!

"Buy it now!" he said, so I'm talking on the phone with the seller and he want's cash.

"Hey Terry, can I PayPal you money to give to this guy? He doesn't do PayPal"

"Absolutely!!! And I'll bring the scooter to my house", he says giddely

Behind the scenes I'm talking to my wife.
She says "So let me get this straight:
You've had a person you don't know,
look at a scooter you want,
and you're going to PayPal him $$$ to pick it up for him,
to a person you've never met and don't know????"

Uhhh, yeah....

Best insight and chance I've ever taken. Thank you Terry - you are truly "THE MAN!"

And let's not forget the camelhair coat styling maverick that he is!

Voodoo's the man. He's come through with all sorts of oddball parts whenever I was in need. When I was building my GL he sent me a bag full of weird sized needle bearings I couldn't find anywhere else fercrisskes. Give the dude a hand.

I think I'm just one of many here. We do love to scratch each other's backs, and then we get to 'participate' in each other's builds!

Yup. My homemade legshield/floorboard repair crimpers came to me as a surprise from SoCal, who had gotten them from Voo doo, given that his name is engraved on them.

Who *wouldn't* want to be part of a community that pays it forward like that!?!

If you've ever been to Terry's house, you know that everything you may ever need is there. When I first got my Stella and blew it up coming back from his house he was the one who came up with an NOS Stella Jug, Piston and Head.

It really and truly feels like an episode of Antique Archaeology or some Barn Find post on Hemmings where, as they say on Scoot.net: "you can buy $75 SX 200's that have been in a farmers barn for 25 years"

And good luck trying to keep up with him on a ride through the neighborhood.
