How do Ukrainian soldiers get around? (maybe a Jawa?)

I had a Jawa moped with a Sachs 50cc engine it was fast 50mph stock. No shocks in the front it was a joy to ride

IIRC I just saw a clip of either a Ukrainian or foreign fighter there using an electric for it's stealth advantages.....

There is one problem though, the armoring isn't usually very good on an EV.

Sooooo, exactly what sedan sort of vehicle DOES offer good armoring?

Or, to put it another way, the armoring isn't usually very good on a gas-powered vehicle.

The cyber truck might be popular in Finland when it releases.

I used to drive an M577. It was gasoline powered. Its armoring was definitely good enough to stop small arms fire.

Can't wait to get mine.

Ok, not a current vehicle but it always bugged me

Who remembers Rat Patrol? They are using electric bikes, gas bikes, Canams, Polaris sidebysides, a lot of pickups and jeeps, anything fast you can stick a launcher on. What they are doing well is being somewhere else when the Orcs return fire.

In Rat Patrol, I believe that they were using standard military M151 vehicles (Jeeps) with a mounted M2 heavy barrel. Some of the scenes in Combat were filmed at the abandoned Virginia Dare Winery in Cucamonga. No Rancho then.

Impressive in a quirky sort of way, but I suspect that "speed" and "agility" as descriptors are lacking......

Note the sawn off front mudguard and side and rear crash bars.

Why wait to be assigned to share one with two other guys. They're free and easier to adopt than ASPCA rescue cats. Go here first, then go pick out a few. You'll probably need one for parts.

Countermeasures ... then Counter-Countermeasures ... then CC-Countermeasures ...

Think about flat armor, thicker armor and bigger main guns, then T-34's with sloped frontal armor. More recently, reactive armor and double warheads. There are self-defense missiles on tanks that will launch missiles to intercept Javelins and other similar anti-tank missiles.

The Russians don't have those on their tanks but some non-Nato countries have pretty effective systems on their Main Battle Tanks.

What happens is small pieces of the tank turret, spall, flake off and bounce around killing the crew and hitting the tank's ammunition.

You don't really need that effect when you hit a tank with a modern anti-tank missile. Having ammunition in the turret though does make dramatic footage when it goes 'high order' and pops the turret off. You don't need that to kill the tank crew and destroy the tank.

For what it is worth, Business Insider is not where I would go for tank tactics and combat effectiveness reports.

The Soviets invented an anti-tank hand grenade. It is meant to be THROWN at the tank from close quarters and has a small drogue parachute to keep the shaped charge pointing towards the tank.

The Ukrainians removed the stick portion with the parachute and 3D-printed a rear housing with fins to created a small bomb that can be carried on a commercial drone. Now they have an anti-tank bomb that costs $100, can be carried on a $1000 drone and can easily take out a $10+million battle tank or Armoured Personnel Carrier.

I believe the Russian-Ukraine War has totally rewritten modern warfare tactics.
