Sitting home with COVID after avoiding it for 2+ years and I came across a 2005 Granturismo for sale. I'm sure it's just the Corona talking, but I'm considering taking a look at it once the isolation is over.. Are there any concerns with part availability these days with the model? Anything to be aware of? FWIW, the ad lists the mileage as 50,000. Thanks in advance!

The Vespa GT is a great scooter.

I have three.

Parts for servicing, belt, rollers, tires, filters, etc are readily available.

Body parts are getting scarce.

I checked Scooter Parts Co recently and they didn't show body parts or tail lights, parts that used to be readily available.

At 50,000 miles, I started to have issues with the engine on Rocket, a 2006 GT, ending up replacing it at 76,000.

But still check it out.

If it was serviced and kept well, it might be a great scooter.

I hope you make a full recovery from covid. There's loads of people who prefer the carb'ed GT. I had one briefly and they are a lot of fun, but just beware you will need to spend money on it as it ages.

A nice review of them from Robot....

The GT is a good scooter, and often available at a good price. The only real difference compared to the GTS is that it is carbed - and some consider that a plus. Go for it! I suspect you will enjoy the experience.
