Friend needs to derestrict her 2005 px150 Canadian edition

Plans include a new Polinibox, andI assume it will need jetting change.

Has anyone done this that can advise on what exactly they did.

The scooter will NOT be getting a kit, so please keep that in mind.

Thanks

Probably just bump the main jet a few points

What is the main jet on a px150 usually? 100?

I'd try a 106, 104, maybe just a 102.

I am seeing other things on the web saying the air filter might need changing, and a new unrestricted cdi might be necessary.

Did you not need to do that?

I doubt your CDI is restricted. Thats very rare for a two stroke scooter.

You can keep the air filter that came with the scooter. It probably has a blue mesh. The white mesh air filters are less restrictive, but when I was playing with my PX, the blue filter was fine with just a basic de-restriction.

I had the Polini box on my PX150 and was not that impressed. I have since switched to the SIP Road 3.0 and am much happier.

I think by just swapping the exhaust, and upjetting 4 points from stock, you'll gain better acceleration and a few mph on the top speed. If stock is 55 mph, you'll probably be just shy of 60 mph.

If you want to dive further down the rabbit hole, the next upgrade I'd suggest is a performance kit. Pinasco aluminum is a nice bolt on kit which will help break the 60 mph barrier.

Next upgrade was a 22 tooth clutch cog swap and larger carb 24/24. That with everything else listed above took me to 64 mph. I could not go any faster as the gearing was holding me back.

I have since added the Cosa 2 overdrive kit and am now topping out at 72 mph tucked in. I can cruise now at 65 all day long which is nice for the type of roads around me.

I started a post on bolt on PX performance upgrades but never finished it, guess I probably should.

If the CDI is like in the pic, it has a rev limiter. Ignition system is made by Kokusan. But I don't think so, cause they came on the last of the PXs (2010 and onwards)…
