I found this for... very very cheap. At first blush it looks terrible, but if you squint you'll notice it still seems all there, including the original toolbox under the seat.

Is it worth getting in a fight with my better half over? Is parts availability a nightmare? Put another way, anyone have a very cheap vespa project I could more easily justify as a "parts bike" or something to keep me out of hot water over this

I'd be so tempted, but then I'd look hopefully in Italian wBay w/ fingers crossed. Likely give up when there's little to be had and these ppl want real serious 💶 for same parts easy and cheapish on a Vespa, of which still millions running around and needing parts. Tempting, but I'd pass on the pain and heartache unless parts are easier than I think... and it is your call.

Of course there are a few bikes I might welcome cheap and in pieces if all there...

Regardless of home front skirmishing!!!

Let it go....

If it was near perfect, running, with a title, and cheap I'd say go for it.

Yeah, it looks cool (sort of) but -- if you're anything like me -- these types of projects go nowhere and you'll just be dumping on the next guy in ten years after it took up your space for all those years.

It's not a Vespa, Mini, Camaro, or Mustang. It's an endless parts search, which when you find then, you attach to the junk parts you have here.

Good luck!

Wise words - it will probably never have value to anyone but me for the time and thousands I put into it to make it minty fresh

I'll stick with what I know and love - Vespas
