Modern Vespa

Well i had to smile at this scoot on ebay. In the mid 80s i remembering scooter boys clambering to get hold of these accessories. I guess it was the new form of mod, instead of chrome mirrors and lights it was as many third party products you could deck your scoot in. I remember fitting the most horrendous black bulbous wheel covers and various plastic grills on my MK1 p200e; the gold metal flake yankee seat where you would slide off it when braking. Anyway, its a flashback to the scooter scene in the UK mid 80s.

What's funny is that tiny little BMX pad on the front rack.

You'd need a Members Only jacket and some Wayfarers to complete the look.

If he's still around.. tell your dad that movie was one of my favorites as an 80s child, and he entertained a kid all the way around the world in New England!

That one was basically an extended music video for berry Gordy's newest Motown records artist... Vanity. Who also ironically enough was discovered by Prince!

We all have a favourite decade , for me it was the 80s, the music, scooters and films . Less said about the clothes but this pimped 80s Vespa really captures that place in time perfectly . I love the cup holder too . Who remembers the stereo systems , the player above petrol lever and speakers put into the glove box of the PX . The other Vespa 80s accessory I had was a see through spark plug cap that flashed red. Pike nuts on wheels and the must have flip over backrest with Yankee seat.

That thing is wonderful in all the most horrible ways.

Never heard of it, but now that you mention it, it looks like he has the see through blue flashing version of that spark plug cap you mentioned! I MIGHT need that now.

I'm also now regretting getting rid of the same simonini pipe that came on my stella when I got it.

Is the cupholder on the wrong side? surely you would want it on the clutch side so you could take a swig of whatever while riding along.

Missing the 1 DIN radio console...

I have to admit that I really love the Battlestar Gallactica motorbike. Sadly, my esthetic sensibilities have forever been defined by Blade Runner and everything Gary Numan did before the mid 80's.

I was thinking of possible PO's for this machine. I already mentioned Barbie.

Slight departure, but yeah ... best TV theme music ever. Period.
