UPDATE 6-10-22:

After bombarding the insurance company with emails and phone calls, as well as detailed documentation....they have agreed to pay for repairs and all of our associated costs! I have this in writing! Yay....!!! Finally....!!! Whew.....!!!!

Update 6-14-22:

We have received the Insurance check and I informed the Vespa dealer to proceed with repairs. They said they will start disassembling the Vespa on June 28th, and that it is 4th in line for Painting. They said it will be about 3 months before it is complete.....THREE MONTHS...!!!!

My wife and I will miss the whole riding season....OMG.....this is not going to go over well....and the hits just keep on coming....

Go buy another Vespa and you and your wife can take turns riding it throughout the summer. Then when your wife's is fixed you will both have one. 👍

Hi GROUPER - my lovely wife did just that...!!! She got me a 2022 300 GTS Touring. Since the dealer says it will be weeks before they start disassembling her Supertech - and since it's just setting outside in the elements until then, we are going to bring it back home and store it / ride it.

When dealing with an insurance company that is dragging their feet tell them you feel they are dealing with you in "bad faith". My sister, who is an attorney, gave me this advice 30 years ago when I was having trouble getting an insurance claim settled for an auto accident where I was not at fault. They were jumping through hoops to settle after I mentioned the words "bad faith". My sister told me that when you sue an insurance company for dealing with you in bad faith, there can be huge punitive damages added on top of the actual loss. Because of the potential for punitive damages, they want to avoid "bad faith" litigation at all cost.

That's great news. Let them fix it in the dead of Winter. Also I would never leave it with them for months if they were storing it outside. That's crazy. I would say call me when you are ready for it and I'll bring it down there.

Your profile says you live in Alabama. The riding season is year-round.

If they are taking it to Marietta Vespa, I have witnessed them bring a LOT (maybe all) the bikes in at night. I don't think that they leave them out. Their showroom gets so crowded with bikes that need to be serviced that they have to take them back out in the morning.

UPDATE - Sept. 22, 2022

Well Gang....all repairs and paint work have finally been completed, and we picked up my wife's 300 GTS Supertech from Vespa of Marietta on Saturday. We arrived there around 1pm and the place was jam packed with people and bikes...couldn't hardly move around. Our Supertech was setting in the show room, and many people were trying to buy it. I looked closely at the damaged areas and the paint repair was spot-on perfect, no way to ever tell anything happened, perfect texture, perfect color match - WOW. However on the opposite side there was some residue / overspray on the paint, you couldn't see it but you could feel it. A gentle application of polish removed most of the "feel" so I was confident that I can polish everything up with no issues....so we accepted the repairs and paid the $2k invoice. What an ordeal this has been...whew....I'm so glad it's over.[/u]
