a stock 125 in tip top tune should be good for an honest 55. but a kit is always a good route...

I like pretty much anything but the DR unless you scooped one dirt cheap the other stuff is so much better and not much more money.

keep the 20 and throw a road 2 at it, polini, malossi power or dare I say it--sito plus gasp!. if you're into the noise maker the simonini and polini are decent options that might allow a little more RPM

I'd upgrade to EI but not strictly necessary right out of the gate.

the stock gearing should be fine, but if you need a little longer legs I'd just pop a 23 cosa on there

love it!

shoot me a text tomorrow afternoon to remind me to talk to the parts guys about it. I'll have them dig it up when they're not napping.

I don't think I have any 125/150 pipes but I'll take a second sweep!

If you want a little power boost while keeping stock simplicity and reliability, you might put in a stock 150 piston and barrel.

Sorry Greasy, somehow I missed your post...

I will take the kit anyways and put it in the *spare* bajaj motor which will likely go in the VBA while the og motor sits at the ready.

OK- went with the malossi 177 kit. Popped it in, bobs your uncle. Taking it out every hour or so to get things in order. I chamferred the orts, so shouldnt be an issue. Over here in texasland visiting and they dont have assembly grease or oil. I used olive oil. when I first fired it up, smelled like dinner!!

OK, now for the question. I upgraded the main jet to a 160 from a 140, but did not change the other jets. I am getting a small sputter mid to full throttle- where should I be looking to change the jets? Plenty of power btw, almost as fast as my P200.

what's the carb and the rest of the jets?

I'd just off the cuff, you need a fatter idle and probably a different air/diffuser in the main stack.

also, double check the timing. I know the old 166 kit was finicky about that (especially with points), but I have yet to have a problem with the new 177's

Ok, changed the stack and much better. After a few hot cold hot cold short runs, its getting comfy and it is quick. I hit 40mph without breaking a sweat- plenty of gear left. The plug is nice and blackish with a brown chewy center.

NOW. On to the tank, which only works (oddly enough) in reserve. What size hose do I need for the fuel? (length and diameter)

Any way to clean it out without pulling?

nice, I'm sure you'll be able to dial it in further with a few jetting loops

only having operation in one position might mean that the on or reserve is blocked, or that it's a tap that only has on or off. but if the tank is dirty then that would necessitate a replacement, I would say.

so you're two birds, one stone here in that you have to remove the tank to clean it. so you might as well put in a new and known tap as well.

fuel line is 8mm or 5/16 and 24" (or as close as you can get)
