The Airco SS has landed. Quick shots just to share for now. More details to come
pretty straight, small typical crack in legshield top
little surface rust, and a few things to weld up, nothing major
inside is clean
more surface rust nuthin major. tail needs some attention
All the rest. Overall 8/10 for a project like this. It came with the flat tank, I pulled the nickle plated tank from my stash.
Remnants of the old purple repray, under the horncast
More purple inside the tunnel under the top bearing race, with some Teal/Turquoise under that. Paint layers: purple / white (primer?) / teal / white (primer?)
Teal on the fork, white underneath. Not sure if white is paint or primer.
Specs of teal inside tank area

I dont think its Pavone Blue, in person it looks more teal/turquoise. Although I dont have a swatch to compare, so Im just going by photos.
Based on what some helpful scooterists have told me, these scooters were often painted a variety of scooters; and over the years were commonly painted numerous times to quell moisture and rust in New Zealand. hard to say what if anything is 'original' for this particular example. I'm in the exploratory & research stage |

Bro, You appear to be missing the Kiwi REAR RACK!
I've got a few stashed away, but they need rechroming & they're in Australia... being a 1-piece design means they're HUGE to ship & would cube out to about 25-30kg. If someone is coming to Melbourne, & has space in luggage... |
