So picked up my new German girl yesterday. I'll admit the GSA is an intimidating ride at first with the 35 inch saddle and about 650 pds. The weight is really not bad at all and about 200 ads less than the K1600 Sport I traded in. I will miss the 1649 CCs and 160 HP of the K16 but the 1250 boxer on the GSA is no slouch. The handling is incredible and man they really know how to balance a bike . Stopping is easier than I thought it would be and I'm alternating which foot I put down at stops which is one of the newer methods gaining popularity over just left foot. Better for your spine and with linked brakes I just grip the front break at stops and stay in first.
So mandatory picks. Sorry it's not a Vespa but my Italian girl is in some of the pics! So is my Eastern European bike (Russian, but moving to Kazakhstan) .
Point of the GS Adventure is well, I've always wanted one and when I saw this girl I knew she was mine. Showroom bike with accessories and setup all chosen by the manager and he even had to source the smoke screen separately as they are not allowed in Canada but it's fine if one finds it's way on a bike. By next fall I will be living on Vancouver Island and it has way more gravel and dirt roads than here in TO. I'm also consider riding cross country next summer and going through the US as there is way more to do/see. The 30 liter (7.9 US gallon) is built for long rides.
