Exactly what it sounds like:

Costs nothing, works great, easy to use, and it makes your Vespa smell minty fresh.

Is tooth paste the greatest white wall tire cleaner of all time? Probably not. But can you use it on Vespa tires and car headlights if you're on a tight budget? Absolutely.

Stay tuned for next week's video where I'll show you how to remove stains from your pet carrier using linguini! Laughing emoticon

More here.

And I highly doubt the toothpaste will cause corrosion. You have to be quick and concise with something like Westleys Tire White because it will cause corrosion quick!

Speaking of toothpaste. I heard a rumor that toothpaste is one of the ingredients used to clean the cataracts off of modern headlight lens covers. Last time I took my car in for an oil change they had toothpaste and Lava soap behind the counter. I made a remark about it to the service writer and he just said 'Clean hands and fresh breath.'

Looks as if the brush is the key. Would work just as well with washing up liquid.
Except for the plaque removal.

In combination with some degreaser, I used my old toothbrush yesterday to help clean the crud off the underside of my GTS. The bristles are great at getting into all the nooks and crannies. It would have been even quicker if I'd used an electric one

Yes. If you watch my video, I actually show how to clean car headlights with toothpaste in it

The toothpaste has a really fine grittiness to it that I'm not sure liquids would have. Electric toothbrush is good, takes away some of the elbow grease needed.

Toothbrushes are great. We get cases of them for free because a former tenant is a dental hygenist, and whatever association she is part of still has our place as her address. She jumped on a plane and never came back, so since we get literally dozens of toothbrushes every year, we use them for everything lol

Next time I'll in the garage I'll check out the garage toothpaste and see what promises they make. Maybe I get a new channel sponsor! lol

As a kid, one of my numerous chores was to wash the cars on a regular basis (about every 3-4 weeks). My parents had older cars with white wall tires or raised white lettering.

I would typically use Ajax powdered cleanser and a stiff tire brush to restore the look of the white walls and lettering - and it worked really well.

Westley's Bleche White was another product I used when younger; but it was much more expensive than Ajax, so my dad did not get it often. Unfortunately, the formula has changed in recent years and the Westley's is not as effective as it once was.

I was just thinking about how my job as a kid was to clean the whitewalls on our 1986 Mercury Grand Marquis wagon (complete with contact paper woodgrain panels) with SOS pads.

Now as an older fella I realize my old man just didn't want to be crouched down near the ground in the wet. But as a kid this was tremendous responsibility.

And I sometimes got to use the hose to rinse them.. as a 'reward.'

Has anyone tried a water-repellant type spray to keep them cleaner for longer?

I use one on my car (autoglym polar seal) which seems to add water repellency to everything (silicone based, so watch your brakes).
