Where do you install a regulator on a smallframe

Where did you install the regulator and cdi? On the smallframe models with the small toolbox on the left side panel I imagine you can fit them like they done on an ET3. What do you do when there is no toolbox ?

That's what I've done with my largeframes and also what I expect I'll be doing with my smallier when I finally get to that point.

Is under the seat safe with all the petrol that seems to spill on a Smallframe ? I thought a regulator can get hot.
